How to Connect Laptop With LCD Monitor

At home, I use a laptop as my main computer, and Desktop Computers (CPU) as a backup. Today many people are using the laptop at home, because in addition to more easily portable, laptops are more convenient to use than using a computer. However, many people prefer to use a large screen to complete their work, well this time I will connect a laptop to a larger screen like the Samsung 12-inch monitor.

There are two types of cables that we know the display VGA (traditional port) and HDMI (stands for High Definition Media Interface). My computer uses DVI ports large and we can find it in the LCD monitor display panel. But some laptops, most of these ports are not available because different size. So, if your monitor using the DVI port, make sure you have a VGA cable port or HDMI port. Typically, the cables are available in dos screen LCD monitor, at the time we bought it, so please check the LCD monitor packaging.


How to Connect Laptop With LCD Monitor

Here are the steps to connect laptop with LCD monitor:
1. Find a suitable cable
Search for a suitable cable television monitor connected to the laptop. Find A cable at an electronics store, you can directly ask the technician about the cables electronics stores.

2. Setting Power Option
Before we connect the cables, if we work as a laptop computer (CPU) then we have to set the laptop on the Power Option settings (Control Panel - All Control Panel Items - Power Options), the setting "Choose what closing the lid does". As shown in the figure below, select "Choose what closing the lid does" and begin to connect the monitor cable, keyboard and external mouse for your laptop. But if the keyboard / touch pad laptop is used as the primary keyboard and mouse pointer, we can skip this option.

3. Adjusting display settings
In the Control Panel, select Display, select Display Settings to adjust the monitor you want to display. Exhibit 1 is your laptop and monitor display is LCD monitor 2. If you want to copy the contents of the screen, you can select "Duplicate these displays". Then apply.

4. Using shortcut keys (keyboard) as an alternative
If you look at the laptop keyboard, we will find a shortcut button to configure the look like [Fn] + [F1] (most Dell Laptop) or [Windows Logo] + P. Find this logo as the image below.

With steps connecting Laptop to LCD monitors, we can do the job easily, especially if you are a graphic design, programmers or animators who need a large screen.
